Daejeon hotels South Korea
Daejeon, the gateway between Yeongnam province and Honam province, is an important place where traffic diverges into two major expressways, the Gyungbu Expressway going to the east and the Honam Expressway to the west. and two major railways, Gyeongbu railway and Honam railway, are joined. Travel time between Daejeon and Seoul using the high-speed railway system, otherwise known as KTX, is about fifty minutes. The nearest airport to Daejeon is Cheongju Airport, about a thirty-minute drive north of Daejeon. Over the past 30 years, as a center for advanced science and technology, 80 research & educational research institutes and 800 venture companies have accrued to Daedeok Science Town in Daejeon. In 1993, an international exposition (Expo '93) was held at Daejeon. Several landmarks such as the Hanbit Tower and the Expo Bridge were built at this time. After the exposition ended, the grounds were refurbished as Expo Science Park. The Yuseong Hot Spring, located at a distance of 11 km west of downtown Daejeon, is the center of many associated tourist attractions like the Expo Science Park. The luxurious facilities of the Hot Spring spas have attracted many tourists to enjoy the pleasures of a hot bath in mineral enriched water and rejuvenate their tired self. |
