Korean Traditional Knots Gallery
During the Japanese occupation, Korean arts and
culture were suppressed. One of these arts which
dated back perhaps to the period of the Three Kingdoms,
was maedup(the traditional art of Korean Knotting).
During the Joseon Dynasty, maedup was very popular,
particularly for the ties on Korean traditional
dress. The folk handicraft was passed down from
one generation to another in Korea even before written
history. |

Korean Folk Village
Korean Folk Village is modeled after authentic traditional
Korean way of life. There are more than 270 reconstructed
farm houses reflecting characteristics of each province,
a district office, a blacksmith's shop, a village
school, mansions of the noble that have 99kan and
outdoor market place and plenty of artifacts. Also,
performances of the traditional dance and music
can be seen by walking around here. It really can
be called a living museum that recreates the lifestyle
or several centuries ago. |

tours include the transportation, admission fee and guide service.
Prices are
quoted in Korean won, but US Dollar, Japan Yen and credit cards
are also acceptable.
Child
Fares: 30% D.C. for 4~10 years of age and free for under 3 years.
Cancellation
Charges: 50% of the fare will be charged for cancellation on
tour day.
In
case of the heavy traffic, pick up service can be delayed.
Some half-day
tour will be dropped off at Itaewon or Myeongdong.
